Leicester Tigers boss Dan McKellar hailed Handre Pollard after the coach’s first taste of a passionate East Midlands derby.
The Australian praised both Pollard and his half-back partner Ben Youngs for their contributions as Leicester saw off Northampton 26-17.
“Polly is incredibly humble and respectful and is all about the team,” McKellar said. “He’s in some rare form off the tee and is just world class.
“He’s a big personality and has enormous presence on and off the field.”
