Newcastle head coach Alex Codling saw the positives in their defeat to Harlequins, but recognised that encouraging performances aren’t enough as they chase their first win.
He said: “We’re a bit like a boxer at the moment, we throw loads of jabs and just can’t find the knockout punch. We’ve got Saracens next week, so we better find it quick.
"I thought first half we dominated for large parts but it’s a bit of a microcosm of our season, we got held up, knocked on and Quins are extremely clinical which we knew they would be.
