THE champions have been denuded by the World Cup and will start their Premiership campaign with nine players in France and prop Marco Riccioni returning this week after Italy’s exit. Disruptions have in the past been little more than a speed bump for Saracens, but if England reach the World Cup semi-finals the club will be without the likes of Owen Farrell, Maro Itoje, Billy Vunipola and Jamie George for at least the first four rounds.
