Season’s starter for 10! Champions travel to Exeter for the big kick off

Premiership Rugby is hoping that less will turn out to be more next season. A year ago, the top flight had 13 clubs but when the new campaign kicks off in October, only 10 will be taking part.
The figure of 10 was talked about a lot last season following the collapse of Worcester and Wasps, although no one wanted it to be achieved through the loss of another club. But when London Irish failed to find a buyer after the end of the campaign and were suspended from the Premiership, there was no need to find a sacrifice.
