Newcastle's new recruit John Kelly has come a long way from working as a nightclub doorman in Plymouth, but believes it’s given him the work ethic to claim a starting spot in Alex Codling’s squad next season.
The 27-year-old back rower believes he’s had “a character building grind up the leagues”, and that being a product of the national leagues has its advantages compared to the roll call of Premiership academy products.
