Falcons to put emphasis on academy players

Newcastle are putting the emphasis on sustainability ahead of Alex Coding’s arrival as head coach in the summer.
The Falcons have cut their costs this season in releasing experienced forwards George McGuigan and Trevor Davison and there are suggestions they may come in under the £5m salary cap next season.
“The owner (Semore Kurdi) has said we will spend what we can afford,” said Mark Laycock, the acting head coach who will return to his previous role in charge of the attack when Codling arrives from Oyonnax.
