Northampton have lined up former England prop Trevor Davison as a replacement for Exeter-bound Ehren Painter.
The Rugby Paper understands that Saints are willing to buy the Geordie tighthead out of the final year of his contract at Newcastle.
Davison, 30, penned a three-year extension with the Falcons in 2021, which was due to run until the end of 2023/24, but this season looks set to be his last in the north east.
