LECESTER head coach Richard Wigglesworth was pleased he had some experienced heads on the field to close out the win.

“It was basketball at the start, you score we score! Fortunately, we got more points than they did at the end,” Wigglesworth said.

“Irish are a dangerous side so it's another big win. It's a crucial period during the when we've lost some international guys. But the guys showed a lot of fight and got the result. There was a lot of experience on the field which helps, not just in the old boys group but the likes of Julian Montoya and Hanro Liebenberg who have played a lot of for us.”

Wigglesworth added: “It's so tight in the battle for two of the top four spots and we're clearly in the thick of it. So much can still change in the few games, so it's about getting these kind of wins no matter how they come, and building momentum.”
