Alfie Barbeary is poised to make a battering-ram return to Premiership action after going “full hog” in training for the first time at new club Bath.
The highly-rated loose forward, who signed a long-term deal with the West Country side in November following Wasps’ financial collapse, is close to making a full recovery from the leg injury he sustained in late September against Bristol.
But Neal Hatley, the Bath forwards coach, says Barbeary, 22, won’t be rushed into making his debut because of recurring hamstring issues, which have troubled him since 2021.
