‘I want warriors like Sam at Bath’

Having secured the services of Sam Underhill on a new contract, Bath director of rugby Johann van Graan wouldn’t change the openside flanker for the world.
As fearless as they come, Underhill has had a torrid time with injury since joining Bath in 2017 and last week’s 20-15 loss at Exeter was the first time he had played under van Graan. Combined with England call-ups, the 26-year-old has appeared in fewer than half the Premiership matches Bath have played whilst he’s been at The Rec.
