George Skivington could not believe his luck when he learned that George McGuigan was available as he looked for a hooker to compensate for the long-term injury to Jack Singleton.
Gloucester’s head coach Skivington did not expect someone of the calibre of McGuigan, who was in England’s autumn international squad, to be an option and wasted no time in signing the Newcastle hooker who has scored seven tries this season.
