Three players scored a brace of tries as they won a thrilling game against Gloucester to reach the Premiership Cup semi-finals.

In addition to Facundo Cordero, Rus Tuima and Dan Frost’s ten-point hauls for their two scores, Iwan Jenkins kicked an impressive haul of 15 points to help seal their qualification.

Victories over and , coupled with a five-point victory for their cancelled clash with the now defunct , meant the Chiefs and Gloucester this was effectively a shootout for first place in Pool 1.

Exeter came flying out of the blocks and led early as Immanuel Feyi-Woboso powerfully finished in the corner after the ball went wide from a stolen lineout.

Gloucester hit back as Ben Meehan broke through the middle of the field to score, but the visitors restored their lead and took it to twelve points as excellent hands for both tries saw Cordero grab his double.

Gloucester quickly cut the gap to five as Seb Blake powered over from the back of a trademark maul, but the half-time advantage was 17 for the Chiefs following a Jenkins penalty and powerful finish from Tuima off the back of a sharp lineout move.

Tuima had two off the back of another lineout move, but had much more work to do with the lineout having been thrown in on the 22, rather than the 5 as it had been for his first try.

Again Gloucester came back with some fine hands of their own to provide some hope with half an hour remaining, but Frost’s double – the first a walk-in after quick hands off the back of a dominant maul and the second from a brilliant solo break – sealed the win.

Gloucester would claim a crucial bonus point for four tries as Alex Morgan scored, which means will need two points at least from their game against to overtake Gloucester as the best group runners-up.

The Cherry and Whites also had the last laugh as they turned over Exeter ball at the lineout and Morris ran the length of the pitch to take some gloss of the Chiefs scoreline.

But Exeter were the side that progressed to the next round and can celebrate an impressive, unbeaten group stage.
