fly-half Billy Searle took a swipe at club owners Jason Whittingham and Colin Goldring after helping his side to their crushing win.

Asked what communication the players had received from those in charge, Searle replied: “That’s been the worst thing, they haven’t been in once since we’ve been here. We’ve had a few emails and false promises and that’s even worse.”

On the manner of the win, Searle added: “We wanted to put it all out there and we did as it could be our last game here.”

Searle said 90 per cent of the players had voted to play the game. “Some boys were concerned about injuries and that’s understandable,” he explained. “It’s been tough because there has just been so much uncertainty.

“Everyone wanted to play in terms of representing the club. The 23 who played did want to play and that’s the main thing.”
