Newcastle boss Dave Walder felt the two tries conceded just before the interval cost his team dear.
“They were two ‘switch offs’ tries just before halftime,” Walder described how Tigers had pounced to open a lead of 26-14. “We came back in the second half and then lost our way a little bit towards the end.
“We just came up short again,” Walder added in referring to last week’s 40-31 defeat by Harlequins.
“There’s lots of positivity in the squad though such a defeat is tough to take and we’re disappointed we did not push them closer,” he added.
Walder confirmed afterwards wing Nathan Earle had sustained a shoulder injury in the first half.
Leicester boss Steve Borthwick saluted man-ofthe-match Nemani Nadolo who is set to return to Australia later this autumn and declared: “Let’s enjoy him while he is here. He brings a great deal to the squad in the way he helps the young players. He certainly knows his way to the try line though he also defended very well.”
Walder acknowledged Nadolo’s performance and how he stretched the Newcastle defence as a decoy.
