PAT Lam sympathised with lock Joe Joyce after his forward pass to Jack Bates at the death turned the visitors’ celebrations sour at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Joyce had raced up field and Bears looked set to snatch victory until referee Christophe Ridley ruled the try out but Bears boss Lam insisted: “I feel for Joe because he was distraught but for a second rower to be in that position and to create that opportunity after 80 minutes was incredible.
