NEWCASTLE boss Dean Richards concentrated on the positives after his team’s narrow loss. “I thought the boys really took it to them. We’ve done that all season and, probathe boys played really well.”
Richards did bemoan one period of play just before half-time when Newcastle, leading 17-7, played on despite the clock going over 40 minutes. Wasps grabbed possession and Joe Launchbury stretched out for a try.
Richards added: “The clock had gone to zero and we should have put the ball out. But we kept on playing and that probably cost us dear.”
