EXETER‘S director of rugby, Rob Baxter, accepted that the red card was crucial but his side still had their chances to win. “Quite often you now play with 14 but when it comes so early, it’s that much harder to deal with.
“So when you go down to 14 after only 15 minutes, you are happy with two points, especially away from home. We made some simple mistakes and at times we slipped off tackles.”
Worcester DoR Steve Diamond said: “We got there in the end as a lot of things went well but there still a few things to work on and it wouldn’t be Worcester if there weren’t.
“Willi Heinz was back at his best, Finn Smith was a revelation and I haven’t seen a lot of Harri Doel but if he plays likes that, it’s going to be hard to leave him out. Still we won’t be swinging from the chandeliers tonight, just concentrating on training next week.”
