AN 11-try thriller went Llandovery’s way, but they had to withstand a fine Merthyr second-half comeback to prevail.
The Drovers ran in five outstanding tries in the first half, the pace of their backs opening up the Merthyr defence time after time. Prompted by scrum-half Lee Rees, the back division ran and handled at lightning speed to make tries for elusive full-back Will Thomas (two), wing Tomi Lewis, captain Jack Jones and Rhodri Jones.
