NORTHAMPTON boss Chris Boyd backed his team’s decision to kick that last-minute penalty.
“They discussed it and George Furbank, in particular, was confident he could step and do the job,” said Boyd. “It wasn’t to be.”
Boyd said he felt his side’s performance merited a win after that bashing at Leicester last week.
“We had control for large periods and to put that effort in and to come up short was disappointing.
However, there were a lot chances out there and we did not turn our pressure into points. We also surrendered them their points too easily.”
