LLANELLI skipper Nathan Hart scored two tries as his side claimed their first win of the new Premiership season with a comfortable victory over the so far winless Bridgend Ravens.

Llanelli were first to strike after just eight minutes through prop Sam O’Connor, who crashed over after some good build-up play.

Just over ten minutes later, Llanelli scored a second thanks to Hart, who was driven over off the back of a line-out.Iwan Evans converted for a 12-point lead.

Moments before the half-time whistle, Llanelli took control of the game. After going through the phases, the ball was played out to Rhodri Jones, who scored a third for his side.

After a disappointing half, Steve Jones’ Ravens needed to improve and they were offered a glimmer of hope on the hour mark when they made Llanelli pay for a yellow card, with a try from former academy product Caine Woolerton.

Veteran fly-half Matthew Jones converted to bring Bridgend back within 12. But Llanelli kept their composure and scored a bonus-point try through Hart, who crossed over for his second. Evans converted for a 26-7 lead.

Four minutes from time, Bridgend scored a consolation try through Woolerton, who crossed for his second.

But that was not enough to prevent a comfortable Llanelli victory.
