WITH the last kick of the match, Sale replacement Tom Curtis missed a touchline conversion as his side just failed to pull off a remarkable victory.
With five remaining, Gloucester led 33-15 but their opponents stunned them by scoring three tries in quick succession to leave the home crowd on tenterhooks.
Sale’s boss, Alex Sanderson said: “It was almost Harlequin-esque in the final period but it would have been daylight robbery if we had won.
“For the first 65 minutes, we were outplayed in almost every area. They were more physical, dominant at the maul and their kicking game was better.”
