JAMES GRAYSON scored 17 points as Saints got their Premiership campaign off to a winning start in a thriller at Franklin’s Gardens.
In a game of seven tries, Grayson’s goal- kicking proved key in Saints victory as an injury ravaged Gloucester can count themselves unfortu- nate to come away with nothing.
Gloucester’s head coach, George Skivington, said: “We came very close to picking up two bonus points but Saints were better at closing the game out.
“But if you give away 12 penalties in the first half, that sucks the energy out of you and you have no chance of winning.”
