NORTHAMPTON Saints are bidding to beat Bordeaux in the race to land Ipswich-born openside flanker Karl Wilkins from Beziers.
Wilkins, who will this week celebrate his 25th birthday, is out of contract with the ProD2 outfit at the end of the season and is weighing up his options.
The former Clermont Auvergne youngster, who left for France aged 18, has been attracting Bordeaux’s interest in the last few months with performances at Beziers.
Wilkins has made over 50 appearances in the ProD2 since joining Beziers in 2016 and is in advanced discussions about joining Saints.
