LEICESTER’S stand-in captain Richard Wigglesworth said he was honoured to lead the Tigers.
The scrum-half, signed from Saracens last autumn, took over after it was decided to put club captain Tom Youngs on the bench.
Wigglesworth said: “I’m very proud to captain Leicester. It’s the biggest club in the land and legends have done it. And I always talk a lot so not much change there.”
Leicester head coach Steve Borthwick praised the way Julian Montoya had “embraced the club” since joining.
“He’s a very good player and has worked very hard to build new relationships with his teammates.”
