STAR man Rhys Priestland was impressed by Bath’s ability to put their last minute defeat to behind them. “We are very pleased, especially after that Wasps game,” he said. “All credit to Wasps who played well in adversity and hung on to win but it was a match we probably should have won. “We parked that result very quickly and had a great session on Thursday.

The way we applied ourselves was fantastic given the disappointment of earlier in the week. “Quins had a bit of a purple patch in the first half, we took some time to get into our structure. We didn’t attack very well to star t with but once we got some energy back into our game we started playing very well.”

Quins DoR Paul Gustard said: “We star ted really well but the water break came at a bad time for us. There was a hug e 14 point swing after that, soft tries, and then for the next 40 minutes we didn’t throw a punch. We created oppor tunities but we were so inaccurate.

“It was awesome to see the Stoop with a crowd in. The first 20 minutes we g ave them something to cheer about but they had to be silent for the next 50 because the team kept making mistakes.”
