CHRIS Boyd admitted Northampton’s play-off chances were left shattered and scattered all over Franklin’s Gardens by Exeter’s ‘B’ team.
He said: “We’ve probably left ourselves too much work to do now to get there. I’ve thought all along that three of the top four places were pretty well decided already and that four teams were fighting for that last spot. We really needed to win here.
“We have to keep going and keep trying to get better. We have to lick our wounds, go away and work hard and try and put things right for Bristol on Tuesday....
