WORCESTER director of rugby Alan Solomons believed his side deserved to win and blamed ‘soft moments’ that let Saints off the hook.
“It’s very frustrating as all the losses have been very close and we’ve got a bonus point from every one of them.
“However tonight, we created far more opportunities than they did but we couldn’t close them out.
“We struggled at the line-out but we should still have won the game as the boys gave absolutely everything but just came up short.
“We had what I call soft moments, giving away needless penalties and not capitalising on attacking line-outs.” Star man, Chris Pennell, had a major hand in Worcester’s best first half move and his splendid run created the only try for Ollie Lawrence.
Solomons said: “At the back, Chris was absolutely outstanding as a lot of high balls came his way and then he made that incredible break.” Pennell said: “It was fun tonight as unlike previous weeks I thought we had some style to our rugby and if we had closed out our opportunities, it would have been a different result.
“It’s annoying that we were denied at the end in the way we were as we know we are good enough to win these games.”
