JAMES Grayson kicked 11 points to give Northampton a win in the battle of the strugglers.
Going into the game, both teams had lost four consecutive league games so it was no surprise that the match produced only two tries.
Grayson’s kicking helped Saints end their miserable run but their Kiwi director of rugby, Chris Boyd, was far from overjoyed.
He said: “Obviously I’m relieved at the outcome but it was still disappointing and our performance was on a par with those against Bristol and London Irish, when we lost.
