CALLUM Sheedy summed up the ambition of newly-promoted after his Bears failed by the tips of their claws to pick up a second win of their latest campaign.

The Welsh fly-half kicked four penalties in the 22-17 defeat at The Stoop. The visitors led the game by six points at one stage, but fell short at the end when they were camped on the Quins line.

It was disappointment for the visitors who thrashed eight days earlier, and Sheedy admitted: “Last year we would have been happy with a point but this year we are absolutely gutted and the dressing room is very down.

“We want to be a team that can win in any conditions, and it was frustrating not to get over the line. We set out to get five points and only got one so we are disappointed. We started well but then our discipline cost us and that was the biggest frustration today.

“It is not acceptable to give away eight or nine penalties in the first half.

“Our target has to be top four or top six. We want to be in there fighting with the best.” Quins captain Chris Robshaw admitted: “We won but it won’t be on anyone’s highlight reel! It was important to come away with points after a close loss at .”
