SCRUM-HALF Scott Steele scored a hat-trick of tries to give the Premiership newcomers a deserved first win of the season.
It took some time for Irish to quell a very youthful but hugely spirited Gloucester but once they worked out that forward power was the order of the day, there was only going to be one winner.
Five of their seven tries come from close range with Steele and Ross McMillan, the main beneficiaries.
