BRISTOL head coach Pat Lam rued a poor first half and questioned the strength of the officials.
He said: “We started well but we allowed the game to slip away. In the first half we made it way too easy for them with poor defence. “We said at half-time that we had to shore it up and we were much better in the second half.
“They were very good at hounding us but they were allowed to slow the game down. We tried to raise the tempo but they were slow at line-outs and scrums and we needed some strong officials to penalise them.
