TODD Blackadder defended Bath’s decision to rest 13 players against Saracens, discounting the suggestion he was devaluing the Premiership as a competition by saying he was acting in his side’s best interests.
“I absolutely stand by the decision. We’re doing the best thing for our team and our players, regardless of what you guys think. The team we selected was here to perform.”
However, Blackadder conceded his ambitions were limited: “We came here to get a (bonus) point. We’ve got a massive month coming up.”
