NEWCASTLE director of rugby Dean Richards was proud that his side held on for a bonus point but rued missed opportunities.
Richards said: “I don’t think we got the rub of the green at times but a bit more accuracy would have made a big difference – we didn’t take all our try-scoring chances.
“There’s a huge resolve within the camp not to lie down. Exeter are a very high quality, very well drilled team but we were disappointed to only get a bonus point.”
