Goneva’s too sharp

VERINIKI Goneva’s subterfuge of placing the ball on his foot in goal last weekend in an attempt to dupe Saracens into thinking he had grounded it for a drop-out, and then taking off to run the length of the field for a touchdown was rightly ruled out.
The Newcastle wing did it with his back to the opposition thereby shielding the ball from sight.
Like a Mankad in cricket, that is more about sharp practice than skill.
