GLOUCESTER head coach Johan Ackermann praised the work-rate of his charges after their victory over Newcastle.
Despite having a penchant for attacking rugby, Ackermann believed that the defensive side of the game laid the platform for the win.
“It was a great effort from the pack and the team, “ he said. “That ‘s pleasing. Of course, we want to score a lot of tries, we want to play a good brand of rugby but there are times where you are going to be without the ball. “
