FORMER England and Exeter Chiefs No.8 Sam Simmonds scored a late try as unbeaten Montpellier comfortably brushed off the Lions to move top of Pool 2.
The home side took just two minutes to get on the scoresheet as Marco Tauleigne crossed for a try that was improved by flyhalf Thomas Vincent. Alexis Bernadet thought he had doubled Montpellier’s lead when he touched down just moments later but the TMO ruled out the try for a knock on in the build-up.
