Hughes try gets Scarlets off to winning start on home ground

A SECOND-HALF try from Staffen Hughes helped the Scarlets open their Challenge Cup campaign with a win over London Irish at Parc y Scarlets.
Motu Matu’u and Corey Baldwin exchanged firsthalf tries, as the teams entered the break locked level.
Scarlets captain Hughes dabbed down in the second period and ten points from the boot of Dan Jones were enough to seal the victory.
A good passage of play in the early stages from the Scarlets saw Jones send Josh Macleod through the Irish line, although he was unable to find a team-mate with a wayward pass.
