THE 20,000 empty seats at the Stade de France for the host nation’s opening game of the 2019 Six Nations against Wales has hopefully put paid to the Friday night experiment that has dogged the tournament in recent years.
Next season there are none. However, the idea that fixture tinkering by broadcasters is over is wishful thinking judging by the 2020 Six Nations match list.
While the champions, Wales, play all their matches on Saturday, England play two of their five fixtures on a Sunday, starting with France in Paris.
