RFU fear over Six Nations relegation is spineless

THERE were signs this week that the RFU have adopted a ‘Little England’ mentality, matching the insularity of the Scots, Italians, Irish and French in drawing up the barricades around the Six Nations.
It is hard to see Nigel Melville’s announcement that the RFU are opposed to a World League/Nations Championship in any light other than that of a rugby nation that has become scared of its own shadow.
