NOTTINGHAM could not conjure up the vital second half score to edge out Munster A after closing to within two points.
Instead Nottingham, who finished with 13 men, could only watch as replacement Conor Fitzgerald secured the five-point victory in a brusing encounter with a 75th-minute penalty.
Nottingham opened the scoring through hooker Jimmy Stevens, who peeled of a driving maul to score in the corner but Tiff Eden’s failed to convert.
The Irish scored two tries within nine minutes to secure an interval lead.
