LEINSTER threw down the gauntlet to their cup rivals when romping to victory in their opening pool game at Castle Park.
Knights made a bright start and wing Andy Bulumakau was bundled out just short of the line.
It took Leinster ten minutes to mount their first serious attack but they bossed the game for the next 20 minutes and opened up a 20-0 lead.
Fly-half Connor Dean set them on their way with a brace of penalties and added the extras to both tries scored by impressive No.8 Max Deegan.
