Counties complain about selection criteria

Hundreds of players have missed the chance to represent their shire for the 2023 senior men and U20 County Championships after RFU representatives changed the criteria for selection.
Regional volunteers and officials working hard to keep the championships running this season have spoken about being “undermined” by “unfair and vague” RFU eligibility rule changes.
Division 2 and 3 of the men’s competition, and the whole of the U20 series, can only pick players registered to clubs outside the national leagues, at level 5 or below.
