Two tries by Aspatria winger Joe Beaty along with two penalties by wing Oliver Bennett, and one by Aaron Stephens secured Cumbria a shot at making Twickenham with a home match to come against Durham.
The visitors used their scrum dominance to good effect and got a narrow win to make up for last week’s defeat to Staffordshire.
