It was nip and tuck for 80 minutes but Lancashire came out on top against a side smarting from last week’s loss to Yorkshire.
Lancashire coach Alex Loney said: “Herts were back to near their best today and it took everything we had to just squeeze in at the death.”
The hosts were worth a share of the spoils in this encounter which contained 14 tries but just fell short in the final moments.
