DEVON built up a 17-point half-time lead playing down the slope and were able to withstand a Cornish second-half revival to hang on for a win which sadly will not be enough to save them from relegation to Division Two next season.
After early pressure Devon took the lead thanks to a penalty from Tom Putt.
They increased their lead with a penalty-try when a Cornwall player held back Matt Crosscombe as he was about to pounce on a chip ahead ingoal. Mitch Vague ended up in the sin bin.
