LANCASHIRE held off Northumberland in a nervy finish to open their Bill Beaumont Cup campaign with a win.
Northumberland started the better with fly-half Will Muir running in a well-worked try six minutes in. Five minutes later Lancashire responded as Evan Stuart scored off the back of a rolling maul.
They took the lead for the first time minutes later, an ambitious Connor Wilkinson pass finding Mark Goodman unmarked on the wing to give Lancs a 10-5 lead.
