Welsh Premiership round-up

THE Rhondda derby day bragging rights belonged to Merthyr who defeated rivals Pontypridd 28-25 at the Wern.
Flanker Jack Perkins touched down in each half for the Ironmen with No.8 Sam Cross also crashing over. Skipper Ben Jones added two conversions and three penalties.
The result saw Merthyr back to winning ways and avoid a third straight defeat – while also inflicting a first loss of the campaign on Pontypridd.
