Daran Poppy was one of the oldest players in the RFU pyramid this season, reaching double digit appearances for Old Gravesendians at the tender age of 61 but has decided to call time on his rugby career.
Full-back/winger Poppy played 11 times this season for the level 10 club in Counties 4 Kent after the first team endured numerous injuries.
Poppy joined the club in 1988 and played until 1995, mostly at full-back in the first team before opting to take a break from rugby to play football but returned to the oval ball game at the start of the century.
