Colchester were the big winners in Regional 1 South East as they claimed a thumping 50-24 win away at fellow mid-table outfit Bedford Athletic.
The two sides entered the match with only two places separating them in the table and an even affair ensued until after the half-time break, when Colchester pulled away, ultimately scoring eight tries to bring up a half-century or points.
Colchester scrum-half Corey Button scored tries either side of Luke Denham’s reply before Stephen Woodhead crossed to level matters.
