TWO late penalties by Ben Adams snatched a narrow win for Sevenoaks against Henley Hawks.

Oaks enjoyed early ascendency and within seven minutes Adams jinked over the line for a try he duly converted.

A rampaging run by Fred Richardson then broke through the Hawks centres to enable Ollie Shirtcliff to stroll over before Oaks pressure at a line-out resulted in a penalty try.

These scores capitalised on a visit to the bin for a Hawks player for a high hit on Adams.

Hawks then found some form and put together some strong phase play which pushed Oaks back inside their own 22.

Patience told and after recycling the ball from a catch and drive Henley prop Rory Mason ploughed over from close range for a try which Max Titchener converted well, adding to his earlier penalty.

The second half opened with a purple patch for Hawks and they made it count with a try by Tom Emery following a drive from a line-out and a repeat of the move resulted in Oaks sacking the lineout and a penalty try gave Hawks a 24-22 advantage to take into the ten minutes. Oaks managed to find field position and two Adams penalties went over.
